Allotments

 

Harling Parish Council are responsible for 2 allotment sites within the village, both being in the vicinity of the Poplars play area.

 

We currently have 23, single and double plots and there is usually a waiting list for new plots. They cost from £8.75 – £42 for the largest plot, a £50 deposit is required when taking a new plot.

 

Allotments are there for residents of East Harling and are subject to annual inspections. If you would like to join the waiting list for an allotment please call us on 714656 or email clerk@harlingpc.org.uk

East Harling Cemetery

East Harling Cemetery sits off the Garboldisham Road on the village boundary and is open to all residents of the Harlings.   The Cemetery is maintained by the Parish Council and any complaints or questions should be raised with the Clerk.

Cemetery rules and regulations:

  • No interment or erection of any gravestone or any monumental inscription shall be allowed until prior written permission has ben obtained by the Council.

  • No tablet or kerbstones are permitted

  • The Council does not undertake the digging of graves

  • Ministers and Cemetery fees are the responsibility of the Undertakers

  • The erection of a memorial is not permitted until an exclusive rights of burial has been purchased

  • No flowers, trees or shrubs to be planted

  • No naked flames

  • All Christmas plants to be removed by February

  • Dead/old decorations will be removed by the Council and disposed off

  • The Parish Council shall not be held responsible for any damage or breakage of memorials.

  • The Owner may have liability of any injury or death resulting from an unstable erected memorial.

 

Fees:

  • For the interment of the body of a person below the age of 18 – no cost

  • For the interment of a person over the age of 18 – £150

  • for the interment of cremated remains – £100

  • Exclusive right of burial including deed of assignment – £150

  • Erection of a headstone – £100

Harling Recreation Bowls Club

We are a friendly club situated in the village of East Harling offering people of all ages and gender a warm and relaxed atmosphere to play bowls as well as to join in a variety of social occasions. We provide facilities and support to players at all levels, from beginners to the more experienced.

There is a short mat indoor bowls programme in the clubhouse throughout the year and in the summer outdoors bowls are played on the green.

East Harling Youth Centre

A good size hall with a new kitchen area and toilets, situated by the Riverside. Bookings available 7 days a week for groups and various activities. Contact the Recreation Ground Trust Clerk on 01953 714656

Harling Old School Hall

Harling Old School Hall is a community centre run by volunteers. The Hall is a modern, well equipped venue used by various groups and clubs and with regular events organised by the management committee. It is available for hire by individuals and groups for various activities, parties, receptions, meetings and exhibitions.
